The Lobster Dress designed by the surrealism icon: Elsa Schiaparelli on 1973 in collaboration with Salvador Dalí, who handpainted a red lobster onto the white silk dress with a crimson waistband, was most famously worn by Wallis, Duchess of Windsor.
Dalí had started incorporated Lobsters into his projects apparently, for him, it had a sensual connotation thus the placement of the painting near the pelvis.
This dress has served as an inspiration since then, and many other designers have honored it: Alexander McQueen (2009), Betsy Johnson (2010) and Prada (2017).
Even the Schiaparelli house keeps honoring it.
